Funds

Programmes

Projects are funded within the framework of various programmes, each covering thematic areas such as education, innovation, environment or social inclusion. Each programme defines clear objectives and priority areas for action where projects should be implemented.

Projects are selected through an open call mechanism: public calls for proposals are published at regular intervals, allowing interested organisations to submit project proposals. All applications are assessed and evaluated according to transparent criteria. This ensures that the best projects are selected and that funding is used effectively.

 Who can submit projects?

As a rule, public institutions, civil society organisations, research institutions, as well as education and training providers are eligible to apply. The exact eligibility criteria are defined in each call for proposals.

Bilateral Fund

For Liechtenstein, the implementation of projects under the Bilateral Fund is a priority.

To strengthen bilateral relations, each Beneficiary State has a Bilateral Fund dedicated to implementing joint projects with Liechtenstein. Interested partners may present project ideas directly to the Diplomatic Representation in Brussels.

Who can submit projects?

To submit a bilateral initiative, the project must contribute to strengthening bilateral relations between Liechtenstein and the beneficiary state and must involve at least one partner from the beneficiary country and one from Liechtenstein.

Both public and private institutions, governmental and non-governmental organisations, as well as profit and non-profit organisations are eligible to apply.

We would be pleased to assist you in finding a suitable project partner.

Civil Society Fund

The Civil Society Fund supports the development of a vibrant and resilient civil society in Europe. Its aim is to safeguard democracy, the rule of law and human rights, while promoting active citizen participation.

It funds projects by civil society organisations working in areas such as democratic values and participation, human rights and social justice, equality, as well as climate protection and the environment.

Who can submit projects?

Civil society organisations from beneficiary countries may implement projects together with partners from Liechtenstein. However, partners from donor states are not required to be civil society organisations.
