Fixed point nets

Fixed points of the national survey

A fixed point is a point permanently secured with a stone or a bolt (sometimes under a shaft) with known coordinates and/or known height. The control points form the basis of all data with a spatial reference.

An online map with all fixed points of the Liechtenstein National Survey can be found on the Swisstopo fixed point data service

National level (height reference system)

The Liechtenstein national level is attached to the Swiss national level of 1903 and refers to a height mark in a rock in the harbor basin of Geneva, the Pierre du Niton, with a height of 373.60 m above mean sea level in the harbor of Marseille. From this reference point, various level-determined contour lines were measured, the fixed points of which form the reference network for the working heights valid in Liechteinstein.
