Planning approval for commercial and industrial buildings and remodeling of workplaces/operating permit

Industrial and commercial establishments must have plans for new facilities and remodeling approved. If the proposed project complies with the Labor Code and related ordinances, the Office of Economic Affairs approves the project. If necessary, the approval includes requirements to correct identified deficiencies or improve protective measures.

The purpose of the plan approval procedure is to ensure that the regulations on health protection and accident prevention are already complied with during the planning phase of an operation and not only after the start of operations.

It is thus an extremely effective means of preventive health protection and accident prevention. Once a building has been completed, subsequent changes that are required for reasons of employee protection can usually only be made with a very large amount of work and expense.

If the construction and equipment of the plant comply with the planning approval, the operating permit is issued.
