Change device / re-registration

The eID.li can only be used on the mobile device with which the registration was carried out. To transfer the eID.li to a new device, the new device and the previous device on which the eID.li app is still activated must be available. Exactly how the device change works is explained in the eID.li app.

If the device on which the eID.li app is activated has been lost, it is no longer possible to change devices and it is necessary to re-register with a new device. To do this, you have to identify yourself again, either online using video identification (call up now) or on site at the Migration and Passport Office.
