Field of activity

The physiotherapist's field of activity includes

a) the implementation of active and passive treatment methods;

b) the application of physical methods for the treatment of painful conditions or functional disorders and limitations of the body systems and

c) the preparation of physiotherapeutic findings and reports.

Professional suitability/ further training

The professional aptitude for practicing the profession of physiotherapist

who:

a) has a diploma proving completion of at least three years of training at a recognized training institution for physiotherapy and

b) provides evidence of two years of practical experience in a specialized physical therapy department of a hospital or clinic or with a freelance physiotherapist. Practical activities during training can be taken into account.

Special features

The practice of specific therapy methods requires proof of the corresponding professional aptitude.

Physiotherapists may use the therapeutic appliances commonly used in their specialty and registered in accordance with the Therapeutic Products Act and may use medicines for external use on patients.

Physiotherapists are not permitted to diagnose illnesses.

In accordance with Health Act Art. 7 ff and Health Ordinance Art. 63 to 65.
