Domestic births
For a home birth, a birth announcement signed by the midwife and parents must be submitted to the Liechtenstein Civil Registry Office.
Foreign births
Please inform yourself early, before the birth of your child, at the civil registry office responsible for the hospital region about the required documents for the registration of your child.
Every birth that takes place abroad (except Chur, Walenstadt, Grabs and Feldkirch) must be registered personally by the parents. For this purpose, the Liechtenstein Civil Registry Office requires an original birth certificate and other documents. Please inquire at the civil registry office. Subsequently, the birth will be registered in the birth register
