Cancer registry
In accordance with Art. 56 para. 1 GesG, the Office of Public Health shall maintain a cancer registry for the purposes of cancer control and research. According to Art. 56 Para. 5 GesG, the Office of Public Health may also participate in a foreign cancer registry. The Office of Public Health made use of this option by concluding a service agreement with the Krebsliga Ostschweiz on December 9, 2010, according to which the latter has been processing data on behalf of the Principality of Liechtenstein since January 1, 2011 as part of the management of a cancer registry for Liechtenstein.
All doctors working in Liechtenstein and their assistants are authorized to transmit data of persons suffering from cancer and residing in Liechtenstein to the cancer registry. As the person concerned, you must be informed of your right to object to the transfer of your data prior to any intended transfer.
