Involved

In addition to the various offices of the national administration, the municipalities, the plant pipeline operators (WLU, LKW, LGV) and other stakeholders are also involved in the implementation of the spatial data infrastructure via contracts and make valuable contributions for topics that fall within their area of responsibility.

Tasks of the national administration

The Liechtenstein Spatial Data Infrastructure is mainly coordinated by the Office of Civil Engineering and Geoinformation of the Liechtenstein National Administration. The main activities are:

  • Creation and maintenance of geodata for which the national administration is responsible
  • Coordination with municipalities and other stakeholders
  • Determination of technical guidelines and data models
  • Creation of legal basis
  • Securing the tracking and its financing

The activities are coordinated through the GDI Commission, which includes representatives of the national administration,  the municipalities, the plant management operator and an external expert. In addition to the GDI Commission, other working groups are involved in the planning and continuation of the spatial data infrastructure.
