School psychological service
The School Psychology Service (SPD) is the educational authority's counselling centre for psychological issues, particularly in the areas of developmental psychology, neurodiversity, mental health and participation/inclusion. The SPD becomes involved as soon as psychological expertise is required at school. It works systematically and according to scientific principles. Access to school psychology services is low-threshold, voluntary and free of charge.
All four school psychologists have specialised knowledge in child and adolescent psychology and are available to anyone who wants professional advice due to difficulties at school or at home. Contacting them is easy by phone, email or Teams. The next steps are planned together during the subsequent clarification of the assignment. After prior consultation with those involved, the SPD also conducts psychological testing if necessary, especially in cases of possible learning and specific learning disorders. In school psychology, the well-being of the child is always the focus.
The SPD is committed to a school that promotes strengths and diversity – an innovative and inclusive school where children, young people and adults feel comfortable and can develop healthily.
