Insurance benefits are extended in the event of occupational accidents, non-occupational accidents, and occupational diseases, encompassing care benefits and expense reimbursements.

Healing Treatment: Compulsory accident insurance covers the costs of:

  • Outpatient treatment by a doctor, dentist, or, upon their orders, by a professional in another healthcare field.

  • Prescribed medicinal or dental medications and analyses.

  • Treatment, meals, and accommodation in the general ward of a sanatorium.

  • Medically prescribed after-cures and spa cures.

  • Medicines and therapeutic devices essential for the cure.

Additionally, costs for medically prescribed home care and aids compensating for physical damage or loss of function (e.g., prostheses), along with expenses for property damage, travel, transportation, rescue costs, funeral transportation, and funeral costs are covered.

In the case of medical treatment abroad, the insured person will generally be reimbursed up to twice the amount of costs that would have been incurred for treatment in Liechtenstein or in a suitable sanatorium closest to Liechtenstein.

Money Benefits

The maximum amount of insured earnings is 148,200 Swiss francs per year. For the calculation of daily benefits, the last salary received before the accident is considered. When assessing pensions, the salary received within a year before the accident is taken into account.

Daily Allowance Benefits

In the event that the insured person becomes fully or partially unable to work due to an accident, they are entitled to a daily allowance. If fully incapacitated for work, the daily allowance is set at 80% of the insured earnings and is payable from the 2nd day following the day of the accident. For partial incapacity for work, the daily allowance is adjusted proportionately.

Invalidity Pension

In the event that the insured person becomes disabled due to an accident, they are entitled to a disability pension starting from a 10% disability. For full disability, the pension amounts to 80% of the insured earnings; for partial disability, it is proportionally adjusted. If the insured person is eligible for an old-age, survivors', or disability insurance pension (AHV), the accident insurance will provide a supplementary pension that complements the AHV/IV pension, up to 90% of the insured earnings. In cases where the degree of disability of the pension recipient significantly changes, the pension will be appropriately increased, reduced, or discontinued.

Integrity Compensation

In the event that the insured individual experiences permanent and substantial damage to physical or mental integrity due to an accident, they are entitled to receive appropriate integrity compensation in the form of a lump-sum benefit.

Helplessness Compensation

Individuals who are permanently reliant on the assistance of third parties for daily living activities or personal supervision due to a disability are entitled to receive helplessness compensation. The amount of the helplessness allowance is determined based on the degree of helplessness.

Survivor pensions

In the unfortunate event of the insured person's demise due to an accident, the surviving spouse and children are eligible for a survivor's pension under specific conditions.

The survivor pensions are a percentage of the insured earnings:

  • Widows and widowers receive 40%.

  • Half-orphans receive 15%.

  • Full orphans receive 25%.

For multiple survivors collectively, the total combined percentage does not exceed 70%.

If the survivors are entitled to pensions from the old-age, survivors', or disability insurance (AHV), they will be granted a complementary pension, which supplements the AHV/IV pension up to 90% of the insured earnings.
