The world's first energy country!

The efforts have paid off. As all municipalities have met the strict requirements and achieved the Energy City label since November 2012, one of the goals of the Energy Strategy 2020 has been achieved. From now on, all municipalities in the Principality of Liechtenstein can call themselves Energy Towns. This certificate from the supporting association of the same name is awarded to municipalities that exemplify and implement a sustainable energy policy. This makes Liechtenstein the first country in the world to be allowed to call itself an "energy country".
