Data protection notice

We process personal data as part of our official activities. Trust is important to us, precisely because your data is involved. For this reason, we consider it our duty to process only the data that is absolutely necessary for the fulfillment of our legal duties, as well as to manage the data with due care and protect it from misuse.

The basis for processing personal data can be found in the relevant special legislation, the Data Protection Act and the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

General purposes of data collection

In particular, we collect personal data, e.g. names and contact details such as address, e-mail address, telephone number, etc,

  • to be able to identify you as the data subject of a data processing operation;
  • for correspondence with you;
  • to deal with your request, complaint or statement;
  • to carry out checks;
  • to issue decisions and orders;
  • to fulfill other legal obligations arising from our legal obligations (e.g. consultations, information obligations, decisions, cooperation with other supervisory authorities, court/office/legal assistance proceedings);
  • for the organization of events;
  • for any invoicing;
  • for internal administrative purposes (e.g. central file management system of the National Administration).

Duration of processing

Your data will be stored by us after collection for as long as is necessary

  • is necessary in compliance with the statutory documentation obligations and retention periods pursuant to Art. 2 et seq. and Art. 28 of the Ordinance of 27 November 2018 on the Management and Administration of Files in the Liechtenstein National Administration (LLV File Management Ordinance; LLV-AVV);
  • is necessary to fulfill the purposes and tasks of the Office of Economic Affairs;
  • is required on the basis of public and legitimate interests.

As a rule, personal data is stored for 10 years after completion of a task by the Office of Economic Affairs and then deleted or anonymized. However, a different retention period may apply in individual cases or under special legislation (e.g. for archiving purposes in the public interest).
