PDU forms

Employees who have worked in Liechtenstein and return to their home country (EU or EFTA country) file their application for unemployment compensation in the country of residence and not in the last country of employment. There is no right of choice.

You will receive the completed employer's certificate from your former employer. After that, the Unemployment Insurance Division will issue you the PD U1 form for the Employment office of your country of residence.

The form PD U1 confirms the periods of insurance and employment.

Applying for and mailing the PD U1 form:

  1. Request the "Employer Certification" form from the employer, including payroll journal/slips for the past 12 months.
  2. Once received, send an email to pdu.alv@llv.li requesting the issuance of a PD U1 form. Employer certification and pay stubs should be submitted as attachments.
  3. Unemployment insurance will issue you with the PD U1 form based on the submitted employer certification and payslips. This will subsequently be sent to you by e-mail.
