If you fail the vehicle inspection, you ll have two options to remedy the deficiencies requested within 30 days and thus complete the inspection.

1.  RBV eligible establishments

If it is noted on your inspection report that the repair can be carried out by an authorized specialist company, the repair-authorized company (RBV Betrieb) may confirm the executed repair with stamp and signature.  This confirmation has the effect of an official follow-up inspection.

The signed vehicle inspection report must be submitted to the Road Traffic Office together with the vehicle registration document within 30 days.

2.  Follow-up inspection at the Office of Road Traffic

If the follow-up inspection is to be carried out by the Road Traffic Office, an appointment must be made for this. You receive this over dispo.asv@llv.li
 

Afterwards you will receive a vehicle inspection report with the note "inspection passed" as well as a new vehicle registration card, with the new inspection date. The vehicle inspection report must always be carried with the vehicle identification card and presented during a traffic control.

Important: If the test can not be completed within 30 days with one of the two mentioned options, the vehicle will be called up again for a complete test.

All modifications to a vehicle that change its original condition must undergo a technical vehicle inspection. This includes, but is not limited to, the following modifications:

• Rims and track modifications
• Suspension and suspension modifications
• Attachment of a trailer hitch (flyer)
• Changes to the brake system
• Changes to the engine / performance enhancements
• Aerodynamic attachments (spoilers, etc.)
• Amendment to the taxi
• Modification to a driving school vehicle
• Conversion to a camper (Merkblatt Wohnmobilumbau)
• Approval as a veteran vehicle (minimum age: 30 years / restriction per year: 3000km)
