The farmstead was originally built in 1494 as a dwelling house for a winegrower's family in plank post and beam construction and was later extended. in 1697, the addition of a stable barn on the northwest side and probably a division of the property into two parts took place. in 1854 the dwelling house was raised, provided with a new roof truss including tile roofing and newly developed inside. The building then fell victim to a fire in 2003. In the parlor and the adjoining room, the entire interior from 1854 was destroyed, the house has been empty since then. 

The floor plan of the core building shows the type of three-room house with parlor, adjoining room and transverse kitchen, which was handed down in this country from the end of the Middle Ages until the beginning of the 20th century. The southwest wall of the parlor and the kitchen as well as the parlor/kitchen partition wall were inserted as plank walls in stud double grooves. The plank stud wall proves the transition from stud construction with the use of hardwood to log construction with the need for softwood logs, which took place in the Rhine valley around 1500.

The two-storey building under gable roof rises above two barrel-vaulted cellars, which, like the kitchen, pantry on the ground floor and two chambers on the upper floor, are solidly built in rubble and tuff. The parlor on the ground floor and a third chamber above it have a wooden construction. Until 1854, the upstairs chambers were accessible only through an external staircase. At the end of the 18th / beginning of the 19th century extensions were made by stable and barn extensions.

The properties Hintergass 35 and 37 have been listed since 1993 and are probably among the most important and oldest buildings in Vaduz. Due to complicated ownership, it has not yet been possible to implement any repairs or other proposals and concepts on the part of the monument preservation authorities. Now, however, the municipality of Vaduz has decided to purchase the properties and, with "Holidays in the architectural monument", has worked out a good project with sensible use.
