Register

National register

As the competent supervisory body, the Office for Communications maintains a public register for space objects for which Liechtenstein is the launching state (cf. Art. 14 et seq. of the Space Act).

A space object entered in the national register and all its personnel are subject to legislation and control of the Principality of Liechtenstein during their presence in space or on a celestial body. In accordance with international requirements, the Office for Communications passes on information pursuant to Art. 15 para. 1 let. a to 2 of the Space Act, including any amendments pursuant to para. 2 leg cit, to the Secretary-General of the United Nations.

UN Register

In order to establish international responsibility and liability for space objects, the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) maintains a public register of objects launched into outer space in accordance with the Outer Space Registration Convention of 1975.
