Roaming in the EEA

Since 15 June 2017, only the domestic rate may be charged for roaming within the EEA (EU + Liechtenstein, Norway and Iceland) ("Roam like at Home").

However, roaming providers have the option to apply a fair use policy to prevent abusive roaming. This includes the use of roaming services for purposes other than periodic travel. A small charge may be levied for roaming that exceeds reasonable use ("fair use"). This charge may in no case exceed the maximum wholesale charge paid by the operator for the use of the networks in other EEA States.
