Health Care Insurance
Mandatory health insurance ensures that all individuals residing or working in Liechtenstein have access to medical care. It offers both in-kind and cash benefits in case of illness and accidents, provided they are not covered by accident insurance.
The premiums for mandatory health insurance are divided equally between the employer and the employee.
Individuals under the age of 16 are exempt from paying the premium for mandatory health insurance.
Insured individuals below the age of 20 are not subject to any cost-sharing. Those who have reached the standard retirement age are subject to reduced cost-sharing.
