Mobile transmitters
In Liechtenstein, there are around 20 mobile communication sites which are jointly used by the three licensed mobile network operators. In order to avoid a "forest of antennas", the corresponding frequency usage conditions (in German) include an obligation to jointly use transmission towers (coordination obligation).
A subscriber of a Liechtenstein mobile operator can expect a coverage rate of > 98%. Coverage in the Alpine region is limited to the populated areas (Steg and Malbun). Dead zones are to be reported to the respective operator.
