Register of Beneficial Owners (VwbP)

The Register of Beneficial Owners (VwbP) is kept for the purpose of preventing money laundering, predicate offences to money laundering and terrorist financing. It contains data on the beneficial owners of legal entities. Legal entities are companies, foundations and trusts. 

On April 1, 2021, the Act on the Register of the Beneficial Owners of Legal Entities (VwbPG) came into force. The VwbPG implements the requirements of the 5th EU Anti-Money Laundering Directive (Directive (EU) 2018/843) with regard to the Register of Beneficial Owners. 

The Office of Justice maintains the Register in electronic form. Legal entities are obliged to enter the data of beneficial owners in the online portal at https://vwb.llv.li . For registration and subsequent data entry, it is necessary to use the latest version of one of the following two browsers: Chrome or Firefox. The use of other browsers cannot be guaranteed (e.g. Internet Explorer, Edge, etc.).
