Contract hospitals and license holders
The healthcare professions practiced in Liechtenstein are governed by the provisions of the Health and Medical Practitioners Act and the associated ordinances. The currently valid laws can be found at: www.gesetze.li. However, authorization to practice a health profession is not the same as admission to compulsory health insurance. On the website of the Liechtenstein Health Insurance Association(www.lkv.li) you can find out at any time about the persons and companies admitted to compulsory health insurance.
As Liechtenstein cannot ensure its own provision of inpatient hospital services, these are purchased by means of contracts with foreign hospitals in accordance with Art. 16c of the Health Insurance Act. The government concludes these contracts.
In this section you will find all outpatient persons and companies licensed to practice a health profession in Liechtenstein as well as a list of hospitals with which a contract has been concluded within the framework of compulsory health insurance.

The government concludes tariff agreements with hospitals that are necessary for the care of insured persons. Hospitals with which a tariff agreement has been concluded are deemed to be authorized service providers (Art. 16c para. 7 of the Health Insurance Act KVG).
