Designation of the procedures

In accordance with Swiss regulations, the award procedures primarily used are designated as follows:

Liechtenstein procedure designation	Swiss procedure designation

Negotiated procedure	Invitation procedure

Open procedure	Open procedure

Cantonal thresholds

The threshold values of the individual cantons in the area of the national threshold values for the various procurement procedures are listed on the homepages of the respective cantons. If you have any questions, please contact the Specialized Unit for Public Procurement.

International Affairs thresholds

Switzerland is a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and has signed the Agreement on Government Procurement (GPA). This means that in Switzerland, tenders above the WTO thresholds must be published internationally.

Publication of tenders in the area of national thresholds

The publication of contracts in the area of national thresholds can be found in the official gazettes of the individual cantons. In addition, some cantons publish them on the SIMAP (Système d'Information sur les marchés publics en Suisse) homepage.
