Why help victims?
When someone has been the victim of a crime, various questions arise. How do you learn to deal with the sometimes massive consequences of the physical or psychological injury and return to normality? How can you protect yourself if you are at risk? What legal options are there? Which other agencies can help?
This is exactly what Victim Support is there for. We support those affected as well as relatives and caregivers. This applies regardless of whether criminal charges have been filed or how long ago the crime was committed. Advice can also be given anonymously.
We are subject to a duty of confidentiality and our services are free of charge.
Experienced suffering can neither be undone nor forgotten, but after a certain period of processing it can change your perspective. The experiences can become an integrated, less painful part of your own life.
