Who needs a permit?

Private care relationships and care facilities are subject to licensing in accordance with the law. In order to ensure the quality of care, the Care Licensing Ordinance (LGBl 2009, No. 104) regulates the conditions and requirements for the care of minors. Private care relationships and out-of-home care facilities must be approved by the Office for Social Services before a child is admitted.

The directive on out-of-home care defines in more detail the requirements for the granting of permits and the maintenance of out-of-home childcare facilities such as daycare centers, daycare structures, playgroups and daycare services for daycare families as well as for "private kindergartens".
