The term therapeutic products covers pharmaceuticals, medical devices and in-vitro diagnostics.
Medicinal products can only be marketed in Liechtenstein if their efficacy and safety have been proven and verified. With one exception, medicines approved by Swissmedic, the Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products, are automatically allowed on the Liechtenstein market.
In the field of medical devices, the Office of Public Health is primarily responsible for market surveillance. As part of this activity, it is ensured that medical devices placed on the market, the procedures for placing them on the market, as well as their use, comply with the legal requirements.
