School performance surveys in Liechtenstein
Check your knowledge ("Checks")
From the 2022/23 school year, Liechtenstein will introduce the "Check dein Wissen" performance assessments, known as "Checks", at public schools.
The checks will provide precise feedback on the performance of pupils. They serve as an assessment for teachers and offer them an opportunity to reflect on their own teaching. They can also be used as a basis for planning support measures. The results generally provide an insight into the quality of the Liechtenstein education system and are included in the national education report, which is published every four years. The checks are not graded, are not included in school reports and are not used for decisions on transfer.
Further information on the "Checks":
Since the 2022/23 school year, the standardized performance assessments "Check your knowledge" ("Checks") have been carried out at public schools in Liechtenstein. In the subject areas of German, mathematics and English, the participating pupils complete tasks on various areas of competence. The aim of the Checks is to obtain valuable information about the pupils' skills at the end of each cycle of the Liechtenstein curriculum (LiLe) by means of a detailed assessment. The results of the participating class levels are summarized anonymously in an annual results report.

Past school performance surveys
The results of the international school performance comparison PISA since 2000 have shown that a relatively high proportion of young people at the end of compulsory schooling do not have the skills in reading and mathematics that are necessary for a smooth transition into the labor market. This worrying result was one of the reasons that led to the demand for transparency regarding pupils' skills in the future.
Since 2010, standard examinations have been carried out annually in the subjects of mathematics, German and English.
a comprehensive scientific report on the school performance surveys in Liechtenstein was published in 2016:

The results of the standard examinations are used as a starting point for the further development of school quality.
