Provisions of private employment law to be observed

Employers shall comply with the provisions on the employment contract that are mandatory pursuant to § 1173a Art. 112 and 113 All General Civil Code (ABGB) insofar as Art. 4 of the Posted Workers Act declares them applicable.

Minimum wages to be observed are defined in Liechtenstein only for those industries in which a generally binding collective labor agreement is in force. For the other industries, the corresponding provisions of Section 1173a of the General Civil Code apply with regard to remuneration. Employers in such industries without an applicable aveGAV are subject to possible controls by the Tripartite Commission according to § 1173a Art. 111b ABGB. This can intervene if the local and industry-standard wages are abusively undercut.
