The Office of Statistics conducts special evaluations for government offices, research institutions, companies and private individuals. These special evaluations contain only aggregated data and do not allow conclusions about individual persons. Based on the Statistics Act, the Office of Statistics may also provide microdata for research purposes.

Prices

Liechtenstein companies require a Swiss company identification number (UID) for business transactions with Swiss authorities. The Office of Statistics offers Liechtenstein companies a free service that allows them to easily apply for a UID electronically.

The Office of Statistics has the task of coordinating sample surveys in terms of methodology, content, timing and organization (Statistics Act, Art. 7, and supplementary LNR 2020-724 BNR 2020/838). The purpose of this coordination is to avoid an excessive burden on respondents in order to ensure long-term willingness to participate in surveys. With a high response rate, high-quality and representative results can be achieved, which are necessary for well-founded decisions.

Due to the small population in Liechtenstein, the burden of sample surveys for respondents is significantly higher than in other countries. The coordination of sample surveys must therefore be considered primarily from the perspective of quality assurance. The “report on the development of a sampling strategy for statistical operations for the Liechtenstein Office of Statistics”, which for this reason can be found in the Quality Assurance section, gives interested parties an insight into the problem. In order to find an optimal solution, the Office of Statistics has launched a joint project with Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. The aim of the project is to develop a sampling strategy.
