"Liechtensteins traditionelle Kulturpflanzen - Von Spitzeler bis Theresele", "AUF DER STRASSE" and "8 1/2 Stunden sind kein Tag - Über die Arbeit und wie sie unser Leben bestimmt" each received a "Commendation".
The awards were unanimously decided by an independent jury.
The awards ceremony for the “Most Beautiful Books from Liechtenstein 2026” will take place in the spring of 2027. The call for entries will be issued in December 2026.
The "Schönste Bücher aus Liechtenstein" competition has been held annually since 2001.
National and international competition
The submitted publications are judged by a panel of experts. The judging process focuses not on the content of a book, but on its exemplary design.
The national competition also serves as a qualifying round for Liechtenstein’s participation in the international competition “Schönste Bücher aus aller Welt/Best Book Design from all over the World” in Leipzig. All books awarded the “Excellent” rating by the jury are submitted to this competition and displayed at the book fairs in Leipzig and Frankfurt.
A total of 570 books from 33 countries took part in the international competition in 2025. 21 works made it onto the shortlist. Among them was the book “Hot – Ein Spiel mit dem Feuer”, which had been awarded in Liechtenstein. Congratulations.
Presentation and certificates
The ‘Most Beautiful Books from Liechtenstein’ competition concludes each year with a presentation of the winning books. Once again this year, the certificates were designed by students on the foundation course at the Liechtenstein School of Art. Lea Baumgartner and Alicia Redondo were responsible for this task this year.
