"Schönste Bücher aus Liechtenstein 2024" - Competition
The "Schönste Bücher aus Liechtenstein" competition entered the next round. The most beautiful books of 2024 were chosen by a jury of experts in January 2025. The focus of the judging was not on the content of the publication, but on the exemplary design of the book.
The competition was open to sponsors, book designers, publishers or publishing institutions or private individuals, as well as producers (printers, bookbinders). Books published between 1 January and 31 December 2024 were eligible for this year's competition. The concept, design, realisation and production in particular were decisive for the assessment of the submitted works.
The "Schönste Bücher aus Liechtenstein" competition has been held annually since 2001.
National and international competition
The submitted publications are each judged by a jury of experts. The focus of the judging is not the content of a book, but the exemplary design of the book.
The national competition is also a qualifier for Liechtenstein's participation in the international competition "Schönste Bücher aus aller Welt/Best Book Design from all over the World" in Leipzig. All books that receive the rating "Ausgezeichnet" from the jury will be submitted to this competition and shown at the book fairs in Leipzig and Frankfurt.
Presentation and certificates
On Monday, 17 March 2025, the Minister of Cultural Affairs Manuel Frick will announce the award-winning books at a presentation and award the certificates for the "Schönste Bücher aus Liechtenstein 2024" to the winners.
