Hiking trails

As a typical mountainous country, the Principality of Liechtenstein offers a great variety of hiking opportunities. 215 km of valley hiking trails, 160 km of mountain trails and 5 km of alpine routes, all of which are well developed, marked and signposted, leave few hiking wishes unfulfilled despite the country's small size.

For the preparation of your hike, a large selection of hiking literature, including maps is available.

All of Liechtenstein's hiking trails can be found on the Geodata portal of the state administration retrieve in electronic form. Select the desired hike easily and quickly using the available options of start/destination, trail time, distance and/or elevation.

Please also note that as a hiker you are often in wildlife habitats. In Liechtenstein, in order to protect wildlife, wildlife reserves have been distributed throughout the country protection and winter dormancy zones eliminated.

Via Alpina 
With a length of more than 5,000 kilometers and distributed over 341 stages, the Via Alpina offers an exciting journey of discovery through the 8 Alpine states. This flyer describes the three Liechtenstein stages in words and pictures.

A variety of interesting hiking suggestions can also be found on Switzerland Mobil. Particularly recommended from Liechtenstein's point of view is the Liechtensteiner Panoramaweg Nr. 66, which stretches over 3 day stages from the mountain area to the valley plain.
