National coat of arms

The state coat of arms

Liechtenstein knows the large and the small national coat of arms.

The large national coat of arms corresponds to the coat of arms of the Princely House of Liechtenstein. It is the emblem of the Principality of Liechtenstein and is used on seals and stamps as well as on official signs and printed matter

The small national coat of arms is used in seals, stamps, on official printed matter, on town signs, on control plates for motor vehicles, for marking Air and water vehicles and on uniforms (cockades and badges) of the national police, fire department and postal employees.

The Legal Division is entitled to use it for members of the Princely House as well as government authorities. The government may also grant private individuals permission to use the great coat of arms if this is in the interest of the country.

Leadership and use

All members of the Princely House of Liechtenstein, the State authorities, Offices, departments and the national institutes (public-law institutions and foundations) have the Legal Division to use and display the national coat of arms.

The Government may also authorize private individuals to use the national coat of arms if this is in the interest of the country
