Government Real Estate Unit

The Government Real Estate Unit (SSL) is responsible for providing buildings and space that meet needs through construction, purchase, lease, or conversion.

By constitution and law, the state is assigned a number of responsibilities. To fulfill these tasks, it manages a real estate portfolio consisting of administrative, educational and cultural buildings, as well as the country's Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiaries abroad.

The current insurance value of these buildings is around CHF 650 million. The cost-saving and future-proof design of these buildings, the professional representation of building owners as well as the efficient, sustainable and economic management are the core tasks of SSL. In addition, SSL is responsible for processing applications for state subsidies within the framework of the Subsidies Act.

The Staff Unit for State Real Estate is divided into the Divisions of Project Planning of State Buildings and Real Estate Management.
