Legistics

The Government Legal Services reviews draft legislation, in particular laws, ordinances and financial decisions, in accordance with a corresponding government mandate. This review includes a check of the legislation, on the one hand, with regard to its conformity with the legistic guidelines, in particular with regard to its form, linguistic design and systematic structure, and, on the other hand, with regard to any inconsistencies of a legal and substantive nature.

In addition, the Government Legal Services remit also includes the drafting of legislation, in particular draft ordinances for the enforcement of international sanctions in accordance with the specifications of the bodies responsible in this area (i.e. Office for Foreign Affairs (Amt für Auswärtige Angelegenheiten), Stabstelle Financial Intelligence Unit and Financial Market Authority (Finanzmarktaufsicht).
