Druggist
Field of activity
The field of activity comprises the manufacture, dispensing and storage of therapeutic products in accordance with the legislation on therapeutic products.
Professional aptitude/further training
Professional aptitude is possessed by anyone who has attended a higher technical college for druggists and has completed at least one year of practical work in a drugstore or pharmacy or has completed an apprenticeship as a druggist, training at a druggist school providing sufficient specialist knowledge and at least two years of practical work.
Special features
Druggists are prohibited from carrying out medical, dental and veterinary prescriptions if the prescription in question does not fall within the scope of the druggist's authority under the Therapeutic Products Act.
If a drugstore is newly established, relocated or converted, plans must be submitted to the Office of Public Health for approval. No professional activity may commence before approval has been granted.
