Border crossing & movement of goods

The Principality of Liechtenstein has been part of the Swiss customs territory since 1923 through the customs treaty with Switzerland.

The Office of National Economy is responsible in the area of customs procedures in particular for the movement of goods to and from the EEA states. However, customs import, export and transit clearances continue to be handled - as provided for in the Customs Treaty of 1923 (LR 0.631.112) - by the Federal Customs Administration and in accordance with the provisions of Swiss customs law at all customs offices responsible for the movement of goods. Import and export clearances that do not concern the EEA remain the sole responsibility of the Federal Customs Administration (FCA), as before.

You can find more detailed information for private individuals at the SwissFederal Office of Customs and Border Security (FCO).
