Conducting benchmark tests at the 8th grade level

Professional evaluation instruments provide important feedback on the performance of pupils and promote the improvement of the quality of teaching and the willingness of teachers and learners to learn. At the same time, they fulfill an important social function. Only with the knowledge of one's own performance level does everyone have the same opportunity to react to it with targeted measures.

The Stellwerk tests are part of the career choice timetable at Realschulen and Oberschulen and form the basis of the assessment interviews in Year 8. Stellwerk (8th grade) is enclosed with the application documents.

Implementation of the "Checks" performance assessments at public schools

From the 2022/23 school year, Liechtenstein will introduce the "Check your knowledge" performance assessments, known as "Checks", at public schools.

The checks will provide precise feedback on the performance of pupils. They serve as an assessment for teachers and offer them an opportunity to reflect on their own teaching. They can also be used as a basis for planning support measures. The results generally provide an insight into the quality of the Liechtenstein education system and are included in the national education report, which is published every four years. The checks are not graded, are not included in school reports and are not used for transfer decisions.
