Association

Associations dedicated to a political, religious, scientific, artistic, charitable, sociable, or other non-economic responsibility acquire legal personality as soon as the will to exist as a corporation is evident from the articles of association.

Associations can be entered in the commercial register voluntarily.

An association that operates a commercial business for its purpose or is subject to auditing is obliged to be entered in the commercial register. Since 1 January 2025, an association that primarily collects or distributes assets intended for charitable purposes is also obliged to register, unless an exception applies. The Office of Justice can exempt these associations from the obligation to register upon application.

The Office of Justice does not draw up deeds or contracts, except drawing up the public deeds required by law and providing assistance with the submission.
