eID.li - My identification in digital life

Security update for eID.li: Adjustment of system requirements and request to update:
As part of ongoing security updates, all eID.li users are requested to update the eID.li app to the latest version, version 2.2.3, as soon as possible. Installing the current update ensures that the digital identity can continue to be used securely and without restrictions. As part of these adjustments, the technical system requirements are also being updated. In future, the eID.li app will require at least the Android 11 operating system. Operating system versions up to and including Android 10 will no longer be supported for security reasons. The eID.li app will be blocked on affected devices. Affected users will be prompted in the app to update their device to a newer Android version or to use a compatible device. In addition, older versions of the eID.li app will be deactivated. This applies in particular to app versions that have not been updated since February 2025. These older versions will no longer be usable in future. Updating to the current version of the eID.li app is therefore required. If it is not possible to update the eID.li app, re-registration with the Immigration and Passport Office will be required. The National Administration recommends always using the latest version of the eID.li app in order to benefit from the newest security features and to ensure smooth access to digital government services.

eID.li is the digital identity of the Principality of Liechtenstein, with which natural persons can securely identify themselves and log in to electronic services using a mobile device. The associated eID.li app is available free of charge for smartphones and tablets with iOS and Android. The eID.li is available to people from Liechtenstein and abroad alike.

In addition to the login function, the eID.li app contains digital proof of identity, which is constantly being further developed. Currently available are the digital driving license and the cross-border commuter registration confirmation, provided the eID.li holder has the corresponding entries in the National Administration's registers. Digital proofs and the eID.li login function for web services are two separate functionalities within the eID.li app.

The eID.li app is developed according to the state of the art and is protected against unauthorized access and manipulation. It is bound to the mobile device used for registration by cryptographic measures. Therefore, the eID.li app can only be installed and used on one mobile device at a time.
