Field of activity

The field of activity includes nutritional counseling in the context of health promotion and prevention, planning, implementation and monitoring of nutritional therapies as well as counseling patients.

Professional aptitude/further training

The professional aptitude for practicing the profession of nutritionist is possessed by those who:

a) can prove with a diploma that they have completed at least three years of training at a recognized training center for nutrition counseling and

b) provides evidence of at least one year's employment as a nutritionist after graduation. Practical activities during the training can be taken into account.

Special features

The nutritionist prepares suitable meals for patients, in particular on the basis of a doctor's prescription, and may conduct information or cooking courses for certain patient groups.

Licensing procedure and requirements

In accordance with Health Act Art. 7 ff and Health Ordinance Art. 41 to 42.
