Intensive course: German as a second language
The intensive course German as a second language (IK DaZ) is one of the special school measures. The intensive course is aimed at new pupils who do not yet have sufficient knowledge of German. The aim of the IK DaZ is to integrate the participating children and young people into mainstream school. For children under the age of 8, the IK DaZ is integrated into the kindergarten or first primary class of the municipal school. Students aged 8 to 18 can attend the IK DaZ in the form of class or group lessons.
