"Künstleratelier" Luxemburg
The Office of Culture Liechtenstein is pleased to announce a cooperation with the ‘Centre Culturel de Rencontre Abbaye de Neumünster, neimënster’, which will enable a local artist to take up a studio residency in Luxembourg.
A 30 to 45 m2 flat and a studio at 28, rue Münster, 2160 Luxembourg (cultural centre ‘neimënster’) will be available from 2026. The apartment is fully equipped and, like the studio, is barrier-free. A washing machine and tumble dryer are available for a fee. The studio is not suitable for space-intensive projects, ceramics or metalwork.
The flat is authorized for one person (in exceptional cases, family accompaniment is possible to a limited extent, but may not exceed 30% of the residence duration. Baby cots are available). The keeping of animals is not permitted. (Requirement of the landlord)
The award is made by the Office for Culture in consultation with a specialist commission in the form of a residence grant and is supported by Luxembourg with a monthly grant of EUR 2,100. The residency period of three months does not require continuous presence, but must be fixed at the beginning of the residency by means of a timetable. At the end of the studio residency, it is expected that it will be presented in an appropriate manner in Liechtenstein.
During the residency, the cultural centre ‘neimënster’ will organize a presentation in collaboration with the artist to which the public and/or experts will be invited. At the end of the scholarship, a report on the course of the residency is requested.
The call for applications for the studio residencies in the following year is issued in spring. A studio residency in Luxembourg is possible every two years. Applications are open to professional artists and cultural practitioners who are Liechtenstein nationals or have been resident in Liechtenstein for at least five years.
