Strategic environmental assessment (SEA)
The Strategic Environmental Assessment Act (SUPG) has been in force in Liechtenstein since May 2007. The purpose of the SEA is to comprehensively determine, describe and evaluate the direct and indirect effects of certain plans and programs on the environment with the participation of the public during the planning phase.
The handbook on Strategic Environmental Assessment in Liechtenstein provides more detailed information on how SEA can be integrated into planning and is intended to support the authorities in the practical implementation of the SEA procedure.
