Area of activity

The scope of practice includes counseling pregnant women, preparing pregnant women for childbirth, managing births, and caring for those who have recently given birth and newborns.

Professional Qualification/Further training

The professional aptitude for the practice of midwifery is possessed by those who can prove, by means of a certificate of competence, the completion of at least three years of training at a recognized training center for obstetrics.

Special features

Midwives who have not practiced their profession for more than two years are required to complete a refresher course before resuming their professional activities.

The person must adhere to the methods learned at the obstetrics training center or in continuing education courses.
