How to proceed if I want to sign over a property to my husband or my wife?

  • A written contract of donation or sale must be concluded; it is recommended to have the contract drawn up by a lawyer.
  • The signatures of the parties shall be notarized.
  • The contract must be submitted together with the completed Application form to be submitted to the land transfer authority for approval by the land transfer authority.
  • If the land transfer authority approval is granted, the land registry department makes the entry in the land register.

Abroad

In the case of registration by a public authority, the official certification is not required.

How many signed copies of the contract must be submitted to the Office of Justice?

The original of the contract is certified and must be submitted with one copy for each of the contracting parties. The Office of Justice (Land Registry Department) returns the contracts to the parties after registration in the land registry with the confirmation of registration.
