Evaluation of the LiLe curriculum introduction
Since August 1, 2019, the Liechtenstein curriculum "LiLe" has applied to the kindergarten and compulsory school sector in the Principality of Liechtenstein. The government has decided to have the introduction of the curriculum comprehensively evaluated in the 2024/25 school year after a five-year introductory phase.
The aim of the evaluation is to examine the extent to which the objectives associated with the introduction of "LiLe" have been achieved in terms of the expectations placed on the schools. A particular focus is placed, for example, on the competence orientation of lessons and the targeted use of mobile devices (ICT) to support pupils' learning processes. In addition, the evaluation will also survey teachers' satisfaction with various aspects of their professional practice. The evaluation is of central importance in order to assess the effectiveness of the introduction of the curriculum and to optimize future measures.
The contract for the evaluation was awarded to the Lucerne University of Teacher Education. As part of the evaluation, the first step will be to conduct group interviews with the school supervisory board and with headteachers and teachers (implementation date January 2025, week 3/4). In a second step, a nationwide online survey will be conducted among all school principals, teachers, pupils and parents/guardians (implementation date June 2025, week 23/24). You will receive further important information on the specific implementation dates in good time.
The involvement of all affected target groups and their active participation in the evaluation are of great importance for the assessment of the curriculum introduction. The results of the evaluation will be used to derive recommendations for measures for the further targeted implementation of the LiLe at state level. A school-specific results report will be sent to the schools, which will be used for internal school development processes.
