Civil Registry Office
The Civil Registry Office (ZSA) handles various aspects of a person’s life based on the following key areas of responsibility and thus serves as the point of contact for a wide range of client concerns: birth, acknowledgment of paternity and legitimation, adoption, gender reassignment, choice of surname, marriage and registered partnership, dissolution of marriages and registered partnerships, naturalization, registrations, and death.
All of these key areas of responsibility encompass a variety of specific cases, such as the processing of domestic civil status events and the recognition of foreign civil status events, the entire preparatory and implementation process for weddings of mixed-sex and same-sex couples, and a wide range of naturalization procedures. In these nearly 100 types of cases, the ZSA provides client counseling, reviews relevant documents, and coordinates with relevant agencies (e.g., embassies), makes the necessary decisions, maintains and updates the civil status registers and the central population register, and issues certificates such as birth and marriage certificates.
In addition to ensuring these operational tasks are carried out, the ZSA performs various project-oriented tasks to ensure the optimal development of Liechtenstein’s civil registry system. This includes, in particular, the review and implementation of legal, technical, and/or organizational adjustments or expansions (e.g., in the form of modified or new cases or client products) or the general advancement toward electronic systems and services.

Location
St. Florinsgasse 3 is centrally located in Vaduz, not far from the town center. If you are traveling by car, follow the signs to Vaduz Center. St. Florinsgasse branches off the main road and is well signposted. Number 3 is on the left-hand side, near St. Florin's Church. Parking is available nearby, including public parking spaces and an underground garage.
If you are traveling by public transport, get off at the Vaduz Post bus stop. From there, it’s about a five-minute walk. Head north along the main road, then turn left onto St. Florinsgasse. Number 3 is on the left-hand side.
