The Innovation check support Liechtenstein’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with at least three years of economic activity in innovation activities in collaboration with recognized research institutions worldwide.

They are designed to provide targeted impulses for the continuous development of the Liechtenstein SME landscape through collaboration between SMEs and recognized research institutions worldwide. This collaboration holds great potential for further development for SMEs and contributes to the important knowledge transfer between both sides.

On one hand, the research institutions benefit from market proximity and can generate income through funding instruments (third-party funding). On the other hand, SMEs benefit from the scientific expertise of the research institutions. Furthermore, employees and students involved in these projects can become potential employees for the SMEs (“War for Talents”).

The available funding is limited and will be granted in the order of incoming applications. Funding applications are continuously reviewed and approved as long as funds are available. Once the budget is exhausted, no further funding commitments will be made.
