Penetration resistant skylights

To prevent tradesmen from falling through the roof, most builders often order puncture-resistant skylights and expect them to last for the life of the roof.In fact, such puncture-resistant skylights do not exist at all. Most of them are made of acrylic glass or polycarbonate - materials that become brittle over time due to environmental influences. Despite this, some manufacturers and suppliers sell their skylights as puncture-proof. Only when asked or when reading the small print does it turn out that the so-called break-through resistance is only guaranteed during installation.

To ensure safe working on or near the skylights, measures must be taken to prevent falls. These are, in particular, fall arrest nets, circumferential side protection, built-in protective grids or mesh covers, covers, anchorage points for personal protective equipment.
