Register of insurers licensed to provide compulsory accident insurance in Liechtenstein

In accordance with Art. 57 of the Law on Compulsory Accident Insurance (UVersG), compulsory accident insurance is provided by insurers who are entered in the register. The register is kept by the Office of Public Health.

Insurers are entered in the register upon request if they:

A) are licensed as accident insurers under the Insurance Supervision Act;

B) declare their willingness to provide accident insurance in accordance with this law; and

C) undertake to accede to the contract between the insurers in accordance with para. 3.

In accordance with Art. 80b of the Ordinance on Compulsory Accident Insurance, an application must be submitted to the Office of Public Health by June 30 of each year so that compulsory accident insurance can be provided from the beginning of the following year. The application must be submitted in writing and in three copies, together with the required documents showing that the conditions set out in Art. 57 UVersG are met.

The application will be reviewed by the Office of Public Health. If all requirements are met, the application will be entered in the register. The insurer will be informed of any refusal of entry by means of a ruling.

The contract between the insurers contains provisions on the joint implementation of compulsory accident insurance in accordance with Art. 81 of the Ordinance to the UVersG (UVersV).
