General market development
The market is supplied by a stable number of providers that is very high in relation to the size of the market. At the end of the year, the register of providers included 55 companies. Among the new entries in the register were one new provider in the national mobile market and two new international providers each in the areas of Internet of Things (M2M/IoT) and satellite services sectors.
Market development - fixed network
In Liechtenstein, Liechtensteinische Kraftwerke has been offering exclusively fibre optic connections as regulated access throughout the country since 2024, after decommissioning its copper and coaxial access lines. From the AK's perspective, the electronic communications market is functioning perfectly, with a stable number of providers, and stands out in the fixed-line sector thanks to its excellent broadband connectivity compared to other European and international markets.
The number of internet connections is growing steadily, in line with the development of households and workplaces. The continuing demand for higher bandwidths meant that the majority of connections in use at the end of the year had a download speed of at least 200 Mbit/s. One third of connections already achieved a download speed of 1 Gbit/s and above.

The long-term decline in fixed-line telephone connections continued, with a further decrease of 5%. At the end of the year, providers still had 9,400 connections, which means that just over a third of households and workplaces still use a fixed-line telephone connection.

Market development - mobile telephony
The trend towards mobile phone connections with Liechtenstein +423 numbers continued. These increased by almost 800 compared to the previous year, while connections with Swiss +41 numbers stagnated. Overall, there was little change at the end of the year, with 52,100 (+1.4%) mobile phone connections in Liechtenstein, with connections with Liechtenstein +423 numbers achieving a market share of 39%.
